For me, the game was really tough up until level 10 or so. I had no ammo, no caps, and I ran through stimpacks like nothing. I also chose Energy Weapons over Small Guns, which did pay off eventually, but for the first while the laser guns were inferior to the other guns like the combat shotgun. Now ...
