Huh. A lot of those relative numbers surprise me. I wonder if I'm just off-base with assumptions, or if the UK has a slightly different relative setup.

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQA Thread - Queer Support!

I have a suggestion, but it's for the exercise bit, which I know isn't what you're looking for, but it might be worth sharing. I am not sure if this will work as well for exercise, but it does for other stuff: reframing stuff so it's hard to really fail is actually a good motivator. Let me give ...

Anyway, life years alone are a terrible measure, that can be demonstrated with a simple thought experiment. Would you undergo a surgical procedure that extends your expected lifespan by 10 years, prevents baldness, and increases height, but requires that you removed your testicles, would you do it?...

Islam is split pretty cleanly. As far as I know, most, if not all, attacks by Islamic radicals on civilians (especially in the West) are the result of Wahhabi and Salafi muslims. The Bataclan theatre was owned by Jews and was for years under constant death threats because they held pro-Israel events. So the terrorists didn't forget to target Jews this time around. Hooray, all is right with the world! Wait, no, not at all. But anyway, for reasons I'm not sure of, the Paris a...

Spiro can definitely jump start the process, and I've heard of doctors who don't prescribe estrogen until the person's been on spiro for a month or so (I can't recall exactly why, but I think it had to do with physiology, rather than gatekeeping). I suppose that if you identify totally as a woman at some times, and totally as a man at other times, without ever anything inbetween, then demigirl might not be such a great fit, but I wouldn't get too hung up on sticking within absolutely precise definitions - a lot of these terms are so new that...

SRS/GRS is hardly cosmetic. It is a pretty big functional change, and for a variety of other reasons doesn't fit in with actual cosmetic surgeries. (I would say this is pedantic, but it is used to exclude care from insurance plans through arbitrary definition so I don't think it is pointlessly so.)...

Yeah cells, more or less, don't see sex chromosomes. If you have more than one X*, all but one of them undergo lyonization, rendering them more or less nonfunctional. This does have parallels to real life Ayn Rand's lack of understanding of human sexuality. When she was in her 40s, she cheated on her husband with a guy 2...
