Re: xkcd-ians Recommendations for Graphing Calcs...

Well, my (probable) math teacher responded to an e-mail I sent him about this, he recommended nSpire. Just to check - can it do all the same awesome crap as 89? (Btw, thanks for all the responses so far!) The nSpire can emulate several different models (including the 84 and 89) via detachable keypa...

Re: Info about non-American universities

If you go to the Times Higher Education site, you can find rankings for world universities. There is a top 200 ranking, rankings by region and by subject. Here is the list of the world: http://www.timeshighereducation.co.uk/world-university-rankings/2010-2011/top-200.html , the Swiss Federal Instit...

Info about non-American universities

I'm interested in applying to university outside of the US (more specifically, maybe Germany or Switzerland), but so far I've found it really difficult to find student reviews of those universities in those countries or reliable ranking systems. Does anyone here know of any good sites/books/whatever...

Re: Sexy Accents?

I've always found the Icelandic accent sexy (especially Björk's before she started sounding vaguely British) because of how soft/airy it sounds from all the "th" sounds. I tend to like Germanic accents in general the best, with the exception of Dutch. Having grown up in the South, it bugs ...

Re: How badly will this hurt me?

Having lived in SC for most of my life, I think you should pick Clemson over USC if you want to study computer science. USC's math and science departments aren't as strong (although its business school and journalism programs are great), and it has a reputation as being a party school.

Does how your parents write also have an effect? I virtually never saw either of my parents' handwriting growing up (especially my dad's), but my handwriting now looks almost exactly half-way between theirs.

Yes, but only if the garage is unlocked (otherwise, ~30s).

Can you find hard copy of something in a foreign language other than Spanish or French (and printing something out doesn't count)?

IDLE can also edit text files (and has syntax highlighting for python). Open a new window or something like that (I haven't used it for ages) and you should get a blank window, no interpreter.
