If you don't dig prairie pastoral scenes, that are often featureless and dry, I think you should try to skip Saskatchewan. The entire province if possible. We're boring. What do you mean? How could a traveller miss the only perfectly rectangular province?! :P My friends and I call it Quadratchewan....

My wife and I went to Iceland for our honeymoon (I have family there), but Finland is the next on my wish-list. I think the language sounds beautiful, and for natural scenery one of the best. I have heard a lot of things about the country. My stepdad spent some time there... he liked it, but said he...

space_raptor: I'm living in Edmonchuk at the moment. I do find it's a little greener than Calgary, and there are tons of quite beautiful elm trees lining some of the streets. The river valley is nice. But in perspective, a second in, say, Stanley Park is worth an hour here.

Well being a Calgarian I'm kind of sick to death of the Stampede, but if you've never been before it's probably worth going. But in all seriousness, BC, Quebec and the East coast have the most to offer for a tourist. BC has the Okanagan valley (beautiful place), Vancouver Island, Vancouver itself (c...

I saw that episode too. I think it's possible. First of all, they mentioned a sort of pipe to redirect the explosion in one direction (at the manhole cover). Second, they didn't make it sound like the manhole cover just got going fast and knocked over the truck. The cover would be coming from the ma...

Bush seems like a paradox to me. If you listen to people who know him personally, including those who are his staunch political opponents, they'll often say he's actually a very smart guy. But then he keeps saying things like "It is clear our nation is reliant upon big foreign oil. More and mo...

Hullo

Hi all
My name is Ian. I'm a university student in Canada, in electrical engineering. I have been becoming way too productive lately and decided that lurking around a nice sciency forum is the best way to counteract this.
See you around.
