Re: 0968: "Everything"

I think this may be one of the sweetest things I've read. I have a major case of warm fuzzies right now. :D

Re: 0806: Tech Support

The "shibbolet" test today might be like asking someone to say "oil": Texans would say "all" and most anyone else would pronounce it more or less correctly. There are lots of modern shibboleths, actually. One shibboleth used to tell draft dodgers from genuine Canadians...

Re: "The Carriage" discussion (#788)

Common meter is fun. My favorite is singing "Beneath the Cross of Jesus" to the tune of "House of the Rising Sun."

Re: "Desert Island" Discussion

Does anyone know what tune the alt-text is supposed to be sung to? It seems to have a rhyming scheme, but the syllabic pattern is too irregular for a poem. Except for a missing unstressed syllable, it's perfect iambic octameter (or tetrameter, perhaps) in my Standard American English accent: [big l...

Re: Senate Vote in Massachusetts a "Toss-Up."

Okay, yes, I'm a newbie and all that, but here goes. Hell, even the reason the health bill isn't good is because of Republicans conservatives demanding that it be made to suck as much as it is Democrats being fools who actually think Republicans are still a real political party worthy of negotiating...

This comic is hilarious. Very, very amusing.

...And I have nothing else to add. Sorry.

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

Hey, I'm doing my first year of University, decided I needed another procrastination outlet, so here I am :D The "random" button on the webcomic wasn't time sucking enough? :) True, but then I have read them all already, most a couple times... Wait, there's a comic? In what forum? I was a...

Re: "Etch-a-Sketch" Discussion

Oh, come on now! Reality is fascinating! :) Mind-blowingly fascinating. All you have to do is look at the world with a sense of wonder. In other words, lie to yourself. Wow. Am I the only one here whose life doesn't suck? Seriously... I'm not saying it sucks, I'm saying it's nothing special. And I'...

Re: "Westley's a Dick" discussion

So...this post is going to be a significantly more unpopular one than I thought it would before I read the thread, but... This is actually something that's always bothered me. What was Buttercup supposed to do, really? Sit around and wait for years on the off chance that the pirate who never left a...

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

So, this is my introductory post. I am KelinciHutan, and I have heard about xkcd around the web, but only just recently started reading. I'm finishing up a psychology major at Auburn University and I am terribly depressed about our last football season and the loss of our coach. Ah...and I spend far...
