Re: 1190: "Time"

The poles should work well enough for directional maneuvering, since they should be riding the leading edge of the rising sea. Should we not be expecting some indication of directional change? Are the survivors in the hill in the same direction that Cuegan came from, or perpendicular to their route...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Now that I've ketchupped and I've had a lot of time to think things over, here's what I think: This is the climax. As was previously said in different words: Groups of important pix have become more and more frequent, and longer since Lucky. There is evident danger. This is THE climax, not A climax...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Is it just me, or does it feel like we are getting close to the climax? It really feels like that to me. There's time pressure (rising sea around them), constant panicked dialogue, and it keeps seeming hopeless. Sure seems like the climax of the story to me! SwimmONG http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/tim...

Re: 1190: "Time"

A (non-Beanish) linguist muses: Ever since Cueball said "eventually" in the Château d'If, Megball's language seems to have made great, multi-syllabic strides. However, as I did way back in the sandcastle days, I still find them in the Uncanny Valley of language. Considering the impending ...

Re: 1190: "Time"

Except we dont' have a drop in ocean levels, just the sealed Mediterranean. What could have happened is: the oceans are drained according to the what-if 53 / 54 scenario, some time in the next few thousand years, resulting in a map like this . The changed climate leads to mass-extinction and the en...

Re: 1190: "Time"

If this is at all based on cursive Hebrew, I can recognize four of the letters. The first letter (right to left, as Hebrew is generally read) could be a zayin, the second word's first letter is possibly a tet, the second letter of that word would be daled, and the final letter would be gimel. Howeve...
