There's also a very neat little hack that embeds image data directly in the HTML using the "data:" URI here . This doesn't work in IE (people using IE will see a broken image, I guess), but it does work on these fora, using an "img" tag (I had to add two slashes to the URI). It ...

Do you just want to calculate numerical derivatives? For Matlab, there's a function called numjac. Probably other math software have equivalents.
