Re: 1190: "Time"

Someone asked why use a raft? The answer is that getting a group to move quickly is near impossible. Ever try to go for a run/bike/hike at a speedy pace with people that didn't expect to be doing that? You'll have to take breaks all the time, meet everyone's needs, etc. Putting them all on a raft th...

I've been to quite a few, and the outsides are generally vinyl these days. There are also (waxed?) canvas options. Traditional Mongolian gers could be more natural materials though.

Re: 1190: "Time"

A few questions with/without answers: 1. How is the raft moving up next to them? There must have been a river next to the yurt camp, that we can't see because it's beyond our view. I don't think this raft is including wheels. 2. Floatability - I've made basic rafts from wood before. Without a hull o...

Re: 1190: "Time"

I think he initially thought he'd do a slow-paced comic with a really simple plot (sandcastles), and when he found out Time had a huge success he thought of a more developed story. That was my take since the beginning. I starred the RSS feed, and looked at it every few days, but fell off my radar a...

Re: 1190: "Time"

So, a realistic prediction of the water level would be at the Bigger Than They Look sand dunes? I think anything between 'above the camera view of the castle' and where they are now is random guessing, no? I don't recall there being any clues as to points in between. Rosetta seems certain that once...

The first flashback was to the floating bucket. There was a more recent potential flashback which was all black - possibly meaning that camera view is fully underwater now.

Re: 1190: "Time"

That's what my intuition says too, but I'm not ready to completely write off the idea of an axis shift. Maybe some bigger changes took place elsewhere on the globe. (I've also read of some kind of 20,000 or 40,000 year cycle in the orientation of the axis -- not the precessional wobble of the axis'...

Re: 1190: "Time"

My intense (in-tents) hiking friends cover 25-30 miles in a day carrying what they need for 3-5 days food at a time. But keep in mind that this pace requires: 1) stores every 3-5 days, 2) water available at least once daily, 3) modern materials such as nylon and polyester to make the load they are c...

The fortress is here.

This sea is yours.

This sea [ocean] is joining yours.

There is also beanish on your-sea, just north of your-sea, and on east-sea. The lakes may have labels as well but are far too small to be read.
