Well, congratulations d33p! I think even if we had more votes the outcome would be pretty much the same :P (note: we need a beard smiley)

If your team has four members you could go for Epsilon Lyrae, the name of a double binary star. It almost sounds good as well.

I wasn't really saying that SBE (stupid acronyms) would be better as a standard than SAE: I was really using it to point out that simply being fluent in the 'standard' of a language does not make one a master of that language.

Re: Boy Thread: All Roads Lead To Back Bacon

I played a very manly game earlier today. It involved a piece of rusty pipe, a tennis ball, a Frisbee and a pair of shoes. The batsman, holding the pipe, had to hit the tennis ball bowled at them. If they missed, they had a strike (3 strikes, then out). If they hit the ball, they got a point, unless...

Oh, not here in the UK, when the 'Labour' party are more conservative than the Conservatives, and no other parties can have a real voice. When your DNA records can be kept for six years, even if you're innocent, EVEN after the EU has told the government not to.

What I find most interesting about this page of the thread (unless I'm topping the new page...in which case, it's the previous) is that all I've seen are references to either Australian or American English. I always read the manual for a game, but recently I have noticed that manuals are getting shorter and shorter. One exception was Sins of a Solar Empire, which has a nice chunky manual. You just feel like you're getting more for your money with a good manual.

Yeah, there's a term for that: assonance. The vowel sound is the only important part of words like meme and gene, because English speakers all pronounce the consonants in those words the same. Or so I assume. I don't see how the consonants n and m can be pronounced differently.

Ah, Dune. That book, along with Arthur C. Clarke's books and Isaac Asimov's, set my minimum line for sci-fi. I will admit that I read the book after playing the RTS game, and I have read quite a few of the Brian Herbert books. For fanfic, they're OK. As for the too many new words: I can agree there....

The drummers in most progressive rock/metal bands are usually good. I've never really had any trouble hearing drums when I listen to music, and I'm not a musician. What you're saying there pretty much applies to any member of a band. Those bands that you're thinking of, in which the drumming sounds ...
