Re: What really burns me...

My school does an alright job (sp?) of keeping morons out of high-level classes and electives. But Lord have mercy on the core classes... nobody wants to be in them, nobody wants to teach them, and they move at such a ridiculously slow pace that we've covered 14 chapters of algebra in an entire year...

Re: What really burns me...

Around here, people are just self-absorbed douches. Everywhere I go, I have to push through massive clouds of about a dozen people standing smack in the middle of the hallway talking. They know it's an obstacle to everyone else, but they simply don't give a damn. When I ask them to move, they give m...

Re: Teachers that cannot teach

Last year I had to take Earth Science, which is the ninth-grade mandatory science class (cue facepalm). The teacher was almost psychotically obsessed with packets; she gave us a six-page stapled monstrosity every day, sometimes more than one. And they were stuffed with mind-numbing "fill-in-the...

Re: The Calculator Thread!

I refuse to use anything besides my TI84PSE. By my random, staggering estimate, I've eliminated hundreds of hours of grinding homework with my elite programming skill. I'm in the Cemetech archive :>

Write a very simple artificial intelligence program. Allow it to write a second program, and allow the second program to modify the first. Insert a basic IRC client. Unleash on EFnet. Create the ultimate troll.

Re: Sub And Dub Watchers Welcome: Non-Pretentious Anime Thread

Personal preferences aside, dubs are usually a stab in the dark. Even with good voice acting, the structure of the script is based around making the lines fit with the video, which is quite awkward. Languages aren't just different sequences of phonemes - a sentence that takes ten seconds to speak an...

Straightforward book classification system?

At one point, I had a big bookcase with all my non-fiction/reference/etc books on it. Then a lot of stuff got moved around, the shelves were shuffled, and entropy increased. I've managed to track down all the books that belong in said case, but I don't want to just shove them on there. I've looked a...

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

I'm aeromax, as you may have noticed. I've been bumming around the Internet for a few years now, seen some things, done some things. After following the webcomic xkcd for a while, I went to the forum on a whim and looked at some of the posts. It seemed like my kind of thing, so I made an account. So...
