Re: Ethics of Suicidal Action

If your death would leave a gaping wound in your family's life, then your family values you . Ditto friends, colleagues, and such. Although you may imagine that the impact on friends and colleagues would be less, I have seen (and experienced) cases where one person is incredibly important to anothe...

Ethics of Suicidal Action

Now this discussion is almost certainly a touchy one (there's a closed thread discussing suicide as a moral and legal right http://echochamber.me/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=59298&hilit=Suicide and it is most certainly closed for a reason), but after going through this thread there were a couple of ...

British Satire

Is it just me, or is there a noticeable comparison between the works of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, and Yahtzee Croshaw? I ask because I only recently got a chance to experience the Discworld novels, to which I have recently sold my soul. Looking through them, I realized that a lot of the stylis...

You'd be hard-pressed to find a single 3rd person game in the literary sense. "Hit A to see how THIS battle turns out" sounds more like a movie to me. Or theater mode in Halo... So, Final Fantasy XIII? Ouch. But oh, so true. Eh, I watched that a while ago. He makes a couple of good points...

I recently took a look at an old MovieBob video, right here: http://gameoverthinker.blogspot.com/2010/09/episode-40-heavens-to-metroid.html . It was interesting to see a positive take on the game from an eloquent, well-thought out perspective, and I have to admit I agree with a few of his points. My...

Well, my personal favorites have always been the cyanides; hydrogen cyanide, potassium cyanide, pretty much everything inside your average apple seed's enzymes. There's also hydrogen peroxide, but that's boring compared to something as flighty and dangerous as a neurotoxin.

AFAIK you only get obsidian from water hitting lava source tiles (if it hits a lava flow you just get regular cobblestone), and the infinite water bug doesn't apply to lava, so no, you have to use up the lava to make obsidian.
