Re: Words you think modern English should have or bring back.

I think the prefix "yester-" could be used a lot more. Yesterday and (more rarely) yesteryear are the only places i can think of that it's used in modern English. Why aren't yesterweek, yestermonth, etc. used. They look weird, but they're fairly easy to pronounce. I do stumble over "y...

Re: Think Before Naming Your Child

7) Thou shalt give thought to what names your child might be called based on their name, and also to what their initials will be. If you are naming a daughter, her last a initial might change. Good rule. Shame I don't agree with the rest of them. A Dellilah(I blame sleep deprivation for my inabilit...

Re: Think Before Naming Your Child

An urban legend I'm quoting as it was told to me, "So this girl gets knocked up. She don't know who the dad is. 'Bout the time she's startin' to look like a preggo, She starts cravin' orange jello. When the kid pops out, she names him Orangjello(pronouced O-rang-jel-lo)." Funny but unlikel...

Re: about a comic

It's a right triangle. a+b=60, and a=2b(i assume those squares are equal), so a=20 and b=40. a2+b2=c2
400+1600=2000
sqrt 2000=44.721359

It's simple 6th grade math.

Edit:Only read first post. Only skimmed that. Just now noticing that other people are talking about "grass guilt"

Re: Two Children Riddle

It would be perfect except I believe triplets can't be identical... I mean, wouldn't an egg have to split three ways? I suppose then again you could get fraternal twins, and then one of the eggs splits into identical twins, giving you, in the set of triplets, two that are identical and one that's f...

Re:

But if Pete is going to write $96, it's to Lucy's advantage to write $100, not $95. Without having analyzed the problem much, I get the feeling that $96 and $100 are the best they could do if they're stubborn. No, if Pete's going to write $96, Lucy makes more money writing $95 ($97) than writing $1...

Re: mind trap

Mary's mother has 5 daughter's. A, E, I, O and ........ (who is the 5th daughter?) Mary. Unless Mary's mother defies gender preconceptions and named her son Mary, in which case her fifth daughter is U. No. In that case Mary's mother could have named her fifth daughter anything. Said daughte...

Re: Infinite queens on an infinite chessboard

I might have missed some diagonals. I didn't bother to check. You can if you want to. .x....... ...x..... x....x... ..x....x. ....x.... ......x.. ........x continue infinitely Edit:I just noticed that all the rows contain two.
