Re: "Flatland" Discussion

Ok, the comic was absolutely terrible, but the title text was brilliant.

Re: "Collatz Conjecture" Discussion

Last summer I went to a three week academic camp. I took a class on infinity there and on the last day my teacher introduced this problem. Of course he didn't tell us what the problem was called and he certainly didn't say it was a conjecture . He gave us the whole 3 hour class time to say our goodb...

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQ Thread - Queer Support!

I just came home from college for thanksgiving break. I'm bi and at school I'm completely open. This is my first year at college so my mom isn't used to me being gone. Predictably my mom assaulted me with all sorts of question wanting to know who my friends were and what they were like. We got on th...

Re: "Movie Narrative Charts" Discussion

I saw the primer part of this chart. I got curious. Someone mentioned you could watch it on google video. I did. My entire week is ruined now. *sob*

Re: [SAFESPACE] LGBTIQQ Thread - Queer Support!

I feel bad for jumping in so late without reading the whole thread, but I like the atmosphere in this thread so I fell like entering into the report. As for me I'm male, bi, and mostly open about it. I think I'm pretty lucky, especially after hearing some other people's coming out stories. I started...

Re: Should I learn Assembly?

I've also been thinking about learning assembly. I was thinking about learning assembly for AVR microprocessors, since I have one available. Should I just wait and learn it in the computer architecture class I'll be taking next year instead?

Re: A brainf*ck interpreter in befunge

It's odd. I would've expected a Brainfuck interpreter to take up more space in Befunge, somehow; I guess the caveats you've given re. the filename and contents help to keep the size down. Last time I looked at Befunge, it was a pain in the ass to reverse a string in code. Might it be worth trying t...

A brainf*ck interpreter in befunge

After having my interest in esoteric programing languages sparked once again by a conversation on IRC, I decided to try something very difficult: create a brainf*ck interpreter in befunge. After a sleepless night I managed to finish version 0.1. I wrote most of this fueled only by energy drink, so e...
