Re: Awesome Student Quotes

Fixed the link. Also that is pretty cool; we have a few xkcd comics posted around the syslab so I guess some of us post here?

Re: Awesome Student Quotes

My school has a bash.org-style page here , but here are some highlights: // In AP Physics, while Raamin and Dr. Dell were arguing about something... Dr. Dell: I bet mine is longer than yours // He starts to unbuckle his belt Students: !!!!!!! Dr. Dell: Mine is 44 inches. // He pulls out his belt and...

Re: 2011-12 Applications Poll

I need to stop messing around on the internet and actually finish MIT's application. Considering that tomorrow's the last day that would be a good idea POSSIBLY MAYBE? The good news is that I got the subject tests back just in time; they were actually good, unlike what I was expecting. Possibly majo...

Re: Today I Learned

Today I learned how to do a buzzsaw while glowsticking. Getting back into a hobby after a year away from it is pretty awesome. (In this case I stopped glowsticking because of a really difficult junior year, but easier classes this year plus a poi club at my school mean I'm starting to relearn again.)

Re: MS Paint Adventures thread

I spend way too much time reading this comic. I think part of it has to do with knowing that an update could happen at pretty much any time; fortunately I think my eagerness to check for updates has died down somewhat (not out of dislike of the comic so much as starting up school again and spending ...

Re: What would you do with $10,000?

My college interviewer asked me this and I said I would save it all for college, since that would get me through about two months. I don't think that was the answer she was looking for... I would probably get a Lenovo ThinkPad tablet for $1,500 (wow that actually was cheaper than I thought...); my c...

Re: What other forums do you frequent?

TvTropes. It is really awesome; the fora are pretty sweet though definitely more spammy than xkcd's. MSPA Forums. It's mostly specific to the webcomic MS Paint Adventures, though there's a fair amount of unrelated small comics written on the fora. You'll have to archive binge Homestuck for a few ho...

My 12th grade schedule: -AP Government -AP something english related -Multivariable Calculus/Advanced Math Techniques -Geosystems :x -Economics / Robotics -Computational Physics -Computer Systems Tech Lab (a period to work on a year-long compsci project in my school's syslab) For some reason, my sch...

Re: Post your 2010 AP/IB Scores!

5- AP Chem, AP Physics Mech, AP Calc BC 4- AP Physics E&M, AP USH So yeah, kind of disappointed about the E&M; AP Physics was my easiest AP. US History I'm not really sad about, considering it's a requirement at my school and I wasn't that fond of it anyway. Chemistry was the one I was worri...

Re: OFFICIAL! MEETUP: San Francisco, CA - June 26, 2010

I conveniently was able to attend due to seeing colleges even though I live on the East Coast. It was really awesome! Randall was there and gave autographs, made a speech, etc. Unfortunately, being in a hotel prevents me from making scans of the comics he handed out until about a week from now, but ...

Re: 2010 AP tests discussion thread!

Did anyone get the idea that the Chemistry exam was particularly easy this year? I knew everything on it easily, even though AP Chem's normally my worst class. Otherwise: AP Calc was unsurprisingly easy, APUSH wasn't as hard as I was expecting, Physics (Mechanics) was pretty easy, and Physics (E&...

Re: Ubuntu- No Networking option

Laptop wireless. I've tried using the network icon in the top-right corner as well as the Network Manager, but neither displays my home network or any nearby networks.

Ubuntu- No Networking option

I just installed Ubuntu version 9.10 on my laptop. Apparently, to connect to the internet, I'm supposed to open Networking from the System > Administration menu, but the Networking option is missing. Does anyone know how to fix this?
