Re: 1190: "Time"

And, you know... the biggest question of all, at least for me: Why was it called "Time"? Was that a simple way of making sure people cottoned on to the fact that the frame would change? I expected something different. Metaphor, theme, allusion... just.. not nothing. I mean, it was a great ...

That felt SO abrupt.

But then why bother with the raft in the first place? Unless the current is running faster than I think, it seems like a slow way to cover the initial part of the journey. (Another data point: if the current were rapid, they would have had a hard time grabbing LaPetite as she floated by.) This is a...

Re: 1190: "Time"

I think leather is unlikely - there don't seem to be any large molpies down near the (current) sea level; they'd have to go all the way up the mountain to hunt one down. And moolpies are out of the question, unless there is grass they can eat that grows on salt flats. Cuegan's people don't make the...

I think this reopens the question: is the story already written? Yes and no. I think he has most of it story-boarded at this point, but he probably writes it in batches as it goes. The interesting thing is that the original mustard was a product of how he was drawing the terrain. That doesn't seem ...
