Re: First programming language.... under Windows

I don't think it makes a big difference whether one learn C# or Java first, but stay away from Visual Basic. If you learn C#, C++ or Java well, there is no big transformation into one of the other; the syntax is not very different and the programming logic remains the same. Also they all supports ob...

Re: Most practical superhero power

I would like to never need sleep, too. I mean, it may sound dull compared to flying, manipulating time, mind reading, etc. But think about it -- on average a human being should sleep about eight hours a day, that's 33% of each day. I know I hate to be tired when I'm in the middle of something, I cou...

Re: It made sense at the time...

Right after I had started to like coffee, about thirteen years old, I woke up one morning thinking it was a good idea to see how much coffee I could drink without dying. Thankfully, by the time I was fully awake, I realized what consequences my experiment would have, and what I would learn from the ...

Re: Omegle!

I wonder how many log onto Omegle thinking "If I only go on Omegle and type "asl?" I will finally get laid -- with a girl!" A regular conversation usually lasts up until the point where they realize I'm a dude, then they leave.

Re: Recommend one artist

I've listened a lot to Trans-Siberian Orchestra lately. It's a symphonic metal band, and is heavily influenced by classical music, maybe more than other bands in that genre. They're music is usually very much "alive" and progressive. I like it. Here is a live version of the song Requiem (T...

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

Woo, Scandinavia represent! (though I still havn't really forgiven you guys for the peace prize yet) I can assure you that I had nothing to do with that. I wanted it to go to myself, of course. But the Nobel committee were all like "Hey, we know you are like Atlas, carrying the world on your s...

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

Hi. I'm Martin. I am the guy who is always watching over paranoid people's shoulders. Also I'm into computers, games and physics -- but hey, who isn't? Anywho, I'm from Norway. I am 19 years old, living in an basement apartment. People tell me that I am arrogant, but I believe it's "insightful&...
