Re: 1470: "Kix"

Oh, it's a breakfast cereal. Google gave me a TV channel, an 80s rock band and an e-cigarette company (that would have been dark!).

US scientists have had their coffee. Maybe too much though as they're anxious now.

Re: Longest possible Google Maps route?

This challenge is still going . We just found a 33,540 km route , with ferries, the longest out of any so far. Thanks to Earl Higgins for finding this one. Bad news. There's a ferry from Egypt to Saudi Arabia that's cut nearly 4,500 km off that route (and the South Africa to Russia ones). It's down...

Re: 1020: "Orion Nebula"

I was expecting the joke to be that the Orion nebula was re-designated as a dwarf nebula for some trivial reason. The only constellation that has ever made sense to me is the Southern Cross. Cygnus doesn't take too much effort to turn into a flying swan. Cross shape: long neck, 2 wings and a short t...

Re: 0949: "File Transfer"

The easiest method is to use bittorrent. That was what I did when I had to transfer over 2 GB of pics and videos to my friend after my last vacation. It took a while but it was pretty straightforward and we just left it to finish overnight. That's the first thing I thought of when reading the comic...

Re: 0850: "World According To Americans"

I'm impressed that they accurately labelled the British Isles as the British Isles, because as others have said in this thread, it is a pretty confusing setup. You can tell they're not Irish. We don't like that term here! A pedantic point not brought up so far is that the yellow bit at the top of S...

Re: "Golden Hammer" discussion (#801)

Is Wolf Blitzer (whom I had to google) known for his boats or vodka? Or is the joke essentially random? Either way, it's not bad.
