Re: 1464: "Santa"

I thought he takes the cookies and saves them for the rest of the year so he can feed himself and his elves and his reindeer until next Christmas.

Re: 1389: "Surface Area"

I was with him on the "this is something we should do" aside until I zoomed in and saw "all human skin". now I'm leery of the stitching-surfaces-together project if only because I'm somewhat attached to my skin.

just like the fact that a Go board has a whole lot more squares than that. 9x9 is an accepted Go board - usually for teach noobs basics of tactics 13x13 is considered a "lunch hour" board size 19x19 is the standard for "real" play and the 9x9 board conveniently has 8x8 squares i...

Unless you believe human intelligence derives from something supernatural, then we know for a fact that things which are not "smart" can be assembled and programmed in such a way as to make us think they are smart (and creative and emotional and spiritual and whatever else you believe huma...

"To a normal English speaker, “Hi, I’m Mxyztplk” is basically indistinguishable from “Hi, I’m Mxzkqklt” " which brings up the interesting question of: how many English speakers know Superman lore well enough that they recognize the first name (even with the typo), and thus distinguish it f...

You're like the 10th person to say that. Seriously, does nobody in here type moderately fast? My email address is 21 character's long and I can type it, tab, and type it again, faster than I can type it, highlight it with my mouse, Ctrl+C, click the other box, Ctrl+P, then click the next box. You d...

Re: 945: "I'm Sorry"

For some reason, I keep getting this one: Other Person: "My mom's house burned down." Me: "I'm sorry." Other Person (louder): "I said, my mom's house burned down." It's weird because I've never, ever actually say, "I'm sorry," while meaning, "I'm sorry, b...

Also a frightening number of people for whom the app didn't work may not... be able to make reviews. Not so much - were such an app to exist, anyone with a tv or radio on will know about a tornado warning, and they can readily check if their phone also alerted them. I've been through scores of torn...

Re: 0922: "Fight Club"

I always thought Fight Club sucked. Well, let me rephrase that. It is the "moral of the story" that sucks. Tyler Durden's plan would result in the collapse of the global economy, and the death of millions around the world due to the resulting starvation, wars, and chaos. Um...yay? Its sup...

I'm kind of wondering, why are you even here? It's like reading Twilight just for the lulz: do you get THAT worked up about folks who do that too? For myself, I get exactly as "worked up about" people who read things they hate and then go to the fansite for those things and put everything...

It is a statement independent of the observer effect, which I think you are referring to when you speak of measuring something's momentum changing...

We have "free will" in the sense that we can't be forced to do something we don't want to do by another person's mind alone, and that the decision making process is so complex in any given person that a random person couldn't fully predict what you would decide before you decide it. Not g...

Well, I believe that the truth never lies between two extremes. Therefore you believe that the truth lies 25% between two extremes. (Wait, what?!) Therefore you believe that the truth lies either 6.25% or 18.75% between two extremes... Therefore you believe that... well, given enough time, you agree...
