Re: 1270: Functional

What I was trying to say was: it seems like computers on the lowest level are evaluating logical statements (feed in a series of truth values, get the truth value of a logical function on them back), rather than obeying commands (feed in a command, get an action back). And I don't understand the st...

Re: 1010: "Etymology-Man"

Obviously etymology man can fly, as evidenced by the fact that he has an upward curving trajectory, only possible through flight. Wouldn't that also be possible if there is sufficiently strong wind against his horizontal flying trajectory? One that is so strong, that is more powerfull than the grav...

Re: 0934: "Mac/PC"

Meanwhile PCs are monstrosities wrought from steel mined by orphans in the depths of Earth's mantle, smelted in forges powered by the souls of lost kittens, and consecrated by the blood of Bambi's mother. Re: Help needed with reading file information using stat (in

You had the right idea about passing the path rather than just the filename; stat() won't be able to figure out which file you're talking about unless you give it the path. Your problem is with this line: path[1]=NULL; Can you see why? C arrays are 0-based; it should be path[0]=NULL; I was so wrapp...

Help needed with reading file information using stat (in C)

Hello guys, I have run into a really bothersome problem with some code I am writing for a homework assignment. What this part is supposed to do is read all the files in the directory specified in argv[1] and then print the file names and sizes. However I have encountered some major problems with the...

Re: 0922: "Fight Club"

I always kinda thought the main character (tyler) was kind of a douche but it was still fun to watch him spout off his lines of bs and gather this massive following. I always thought that was the entire point of the movie, that behind the charasmatic shell of Tyler, there lies an angry teenager who...
