Re: Awesome Teacher Quotes

My math professor last semester trying to take up the final few minutes of lecture... I went to St Louis last weekend, they have this giant arch. It's kind of like a McDonald's arch except one of them fell down... So... how about that Godfather movie? (He had mentioned The Godfather earlier in the l...

Re: Rant Thread (because we need more ranting)

In my dorm the first & second floors are pretty much the same. Everyone gets off the elevator on the second floor and takes some stairs down to leave the building. I live on the 8th floor and when I need to do laundry I take the elevator straight down to the 1st floor. It pisses me off when peop...

Re: Burn Notice

Love this show. One of the few shows on TV that can consistently entertain me, despite a few of its flaws.

New episodes start tonight at 10. Pretty pumped for it. Currently nothing airing that I bother to watch, been waiting for this and the new season of Breaking Bad

Re: Reactions to your Major

I'm in Engineering. Haven't gotten any weird reactions to that so far. Of course I'm at Purdue, where pretty much everyone is an engineer and thus that is the expected answer to the 'What's your major?' question. It's the people who say literature or history or something who get the 'Oh that's inter...

NCAA Football 11

Anyone pick it up yet? I got it the other day. Not a whole lot of difference, as usual. They did improve a lot of the animations and made passing game much more difficult. Not really a fan of that but I do suppose it makes it more realistic. The emphasis on specific teams' play styles doesn't seem t...

5 on US Gov, 4 on Comp Sci A

Thought they'd be switched, but I'm happy either way. With the 4 on US History last year I get out of 13 credits when I start college this year :)

Final Project, Draw an image from a file

So I'm looking for some help with my final project in AP CS. I'm trying to write a Blackjack program, it seems to be mostly okay except I cannot figure out how to draw the cards. (We didn't spend a lot of time on graphics as it isn't tested on the AP and we were a little behind) Trying to save posti...

I'm starting at Purdue in the Fall :) Probably science though rather than engineering

Re: 2010 AP tests discussion thread!

Took Gov on Monday, thought it was pretty easy for the most part.

Comp Sci yesterday, destroyed that except for the Gridworld, probably should have learned that better. Oh well. The first three free response were so easy... Seemed like a joke.

Exactly. Just go to an underclassman (if your school allows underclassmen to attend prom) and say... "I have a car and condom, will you go to prom with me?"

Re: Stupid mistakes on Tests.

Recently in my Calc class I was finding an anti-derivative. It was something like 6x^5+4x^3+2x+3 or something like that. My answer: x^6+12x^4+x^2+3x Yeah I multiplied the coefficient by the exponent like I was using the power rule to find the derivative, then took the rest of the anti-derivative cor...

Re: SO MOTHEREFFIN HAPPY Thread :)

I finally got an insanely stupid lab done in my computer science class. I hated it so much and it's done and I never have to look at it again.

I plan on printing the code out, just so I can burn it.

Therefore I am extremely happy.

Oh, and I'm going to a concert tonight, so double the happiness.

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

Hey, I'm Will I'm 18, a high school senior. Money pending (I've already been accepted) I'm planning to attend Purdue in the fall, haven't decided on a major. If that doesn't work out I'll be attending my hometown college of Penn State :/ I love xkcd, can't remember when I started reading but they al...
