Re: Reality Sharing aka Lifecasting Extreme

Regardless of the technical impossibilities of attaining such a thing, just imagine how disastrous this technology could be if misused. Currently, you can download a movie from a dubious website and maybe, if you're careless, get some annoying spyware on your computer or maybe the wrong movie. Oops,...

Re: irb vs ruby script trouble

The code you're running is erroneous, and I may be utterly mistaken but the behaviors could differ due to how the interpreters handle errors. It is an error because using the "<<" operator on a ruby string with an integer transforms the integer to a character and appends it to the string. ...

This comic is beautiful, and touching. Congratulations Randall, and hope that whatever's going on in your life clears up.

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

Hello everyone! My name is Pablo, I'm 21 and currently living in Santiago, Chile. I study Civil Engineering (specializing in computer engineering) and have been reading this comic and lurking these forums for a while. I've made a few posts before, but never really introduced myself, thus this post. ...

What software would YOU like to see in an Android?

Greetings! I am currently thinking about participating in a contest for developing applications for smart phones with Android, and thus, I'd like to know the kinds of things YOU'D like to see in such a device, so that I may hopefully inspire myself on some of them and know what kind of things people...

Re: "3x9" Discussion (#759)

Haha indeed, the QED at the end is always a good psychological trick to move the professor's will in your favor. Within my circle of friends, we always refer to the "Page-changing Theorem"; When deriving a proof in some sort of math test, write some complicated stuff at the end of the page...

Re: Curious Math Problem

Yes, but it's probably meant to be understood by a more general populace. While to a lot of us the error may seem evident, someone who's only had some basic high school algebra might have to think it through, and during that time such a person will think things like "What the fuck, EVERYTHING I...

...Wow, and here I was thinking I was stating a grossly exaggerated example. Sorry about missing that post, by the way. But, wow, 2008? Truly baffling.

Re: High School cancels Prom due to same-sex couple's existe

Jennifer Chamblee, a resident in nearby Guntown, sided with the school board. "What about the rights of the other students that do not share her lifestyle or the way that she wants to live it?" she said. Ugh, this is indeed preposterous. People seem to think that being gay is a choice. Th...

Re: Massive earthquake in Chile, tsunami feared

I'm currently living in Santiago, the capital city, and I was in the basement of a club full with people when this happened. It was pretty scary stuff; I actually wondered for a second what I would do if the ceiling were to suddenly collapsed and I was trapped in the debris. The streets were very ch...
