Re: Internet Explorer 'tax' fuels browser debate

I think this is clever and hilarious. That said, there's nothing forcing any company to support old browsers. They can make the choice to maintain backwards-compatibility or not. If that segment of their customer base is so small, then they should just cut that business loose. Either people will upg...

I know for a fact my Fortune 500 company's current CEO is slicing and dicing us up (we're an insurance company) because of ONE shareholder's demands. Do you really not think that someone working for the United States government engaging in an activity that is illegal in the United States is not at least somewhat damaging? It's legal in 2 states, and should be legal (albeit heavily regulated) in the rest. This is a Big Deal, at least in part, bec...

Re: Rape victim jailed... in California (Trigger!)

The solution is to decline to prosecute cases where 1) the victim/witness is unwilling to testify, and 2) there isn't a solid enough case for conviction without him/her. This is a decision that prosecutors make every fucking day. Poor, unreliable, or unwilling witness? The perp goes free. But then, ...

I thought that dark-eyed people were supposed to see better at night than light-eyed people. Whereas light-eyed people tend to be light-sensitive, but are better at distinguishing color.

Re: San Francisco judge removes circumcision ban from ballot

IMO the most important takeaway point is that we aren't going to change people's minds on this by legislating it. Put the facts out there, inform people who aren't informed, re-inform people who've been misinformed (on the health benefits, for example) and it will change on its own, over time, until...
