Re: sword of truth series?

I gave the new one, The Law of Nines, a try, but gave up pretty quickly. Just too silly.

Coffee: an intergalactic, metaphysical adventure

Hi :) Working on my first graphic novel, an intergalactic, metaphysical adventure called Coffee. Interested to see what people think! Some blurb from my website: Coffee follows the adventures of ——, a marketing guru with an intergalactic past who might just be the next Messiah. Guided by the time-tr...

Re: Doctor Who

New season is a major disappointment so far. High hopes given the quality of Moffat's episodes in earlier seasons, but it's all pretty uninspiring so far. The Doc seems to be trying too hard to be D Tennant. Needs his own personality. The "cheeky" sidekick girl is kind of annoying. Could d...

I like the Nespresso pods for home use, but coffee's evil and those pods make it too easy to drink too much!

Starbucks house blend is swill. I like my black Americanos strong and hot. The ones at Starbucks are neither of those :P Still a nice place to hang out, though.

Re: sword of truth series?

Enjoyed the first one, then it kind of went downhill from there. Unfortunately, I felt a duty to finish the series and read the whole lot! Did need to take a year break around book 6 or so to rebuild my energy :) I was annoyed by how long it took Richard to learn to control his power. I suppose that...

Re: Recommend a book

A Voyage to Arcturus by David Lindsay. Perhaps the best book I've read. It's very, very odd. A sort of sci-fi/spiritual adventure. Written in the 1920s, when all sorts of strange spiritual things were going on :) I don't re-read books, but I'm pretty sure I will with this one. It's pretty abstract.
