No, this is in response to BN's idea that just because Jessica :

I really don't know between Adacore and D_L. DL's claim you don't really expect to be present in the game (Since we learnt that the flavour D1 was just amt) but I'm not sure we can trust Adacore, and it does have flavour precedence.

Now this is going to sound silly, but reading back over my PMs, I never asked Adacore what alignment he was beyond asking if it was possible that he could get possessed (Which response was "*concern*") I've kinda been assuming that Alia Atreides would be Atreides.

And no as far as I know my win conditions are Atreides/BG, I don't have one to protect Alia as well.

On lynching DL or Adacore, I think we need full claims from both before deciding.

Just something I wanted people more experienced with flavour's opinions on:

I read on the wiki when I first recieved my role that Alia was possessed by a spirit or something as a result of Lady Jessica undergoing spice agony during pregnancy. That could be a possible conflict there since I don't think lynchers would mean an extra day. But apparantly this was in a later book? Could it have happened in this game?

Well at least I think it'll be easy enough for Adacore to confirm what I am saying.

My powers were that I started the game carrying Adacore which protected Adacore from all actions and I could communicate with Adacore but Adacore can only send me back "feelings". I could give birth any day from D2 to D4 inclusive and the birth would happen regardless at the end of D4 if I do not choose to give birth before.

Yeah, no.

I can see why you chose me but really bad decision:

I am Lady Jessica which is how I know that Adacore is Atreides, he is Alia who I gave birth to on D4. I was cringing yesterday when Adacore confirmed me as Atreides, it was obvious who I was then with a BG and Atreides alignment.

The atreides/harkonnen conflict is clearly not the only conflict. corrino, fenrig- no idea what their condition is, and fremen vs spice addicts has yet to be resolved.

We know the Corrino win condition was to protect the Emperor which was lost N1. Fenring if they are telling the truth is to protect each other so that's not in conflict with anyone elses' win conditions.

Spice Addicts vs Fremen is pretty much resolved (There are quite a few Fremen left and following your death if the game does not end it should be simple enough to root out the remaining spice addicts).

First of all, what is your other win condition misterk?

Secondly, I'm not sure anyone else would benefit from you still being alive. From the mass roleclaim we've had over the past few days, you're the only person left I think that would contradict an Atreides win (And possibly Fremen as well with your other) and there's no other conflicts going on at all that I can see (Assuming everyone else has claimed truthfully). I highly suspect the game should end with your lynch.

I think it was the survival of the Emperor. The Emperor died N1. So, I am guessing that either that winning condition is now beyond the reach of those players who had it, or that winning condition got. . .switched (like, apparently, ameretrifle did). I am really hoping what happened to ameretrifle was a special case, but I don't have enough flavor knowledge to do any more than hope.

Where did he get this from if he is not House Corrino? A bit too random to be just a suggestion in my view.

Re: Dune D6: Break, Eject! Eject, Eject!

Some analysis time.

Remaining players:
Spoiler:
2. Adacore (I look forward to being shunned)
5. greenlover (I can handle two games. . .right?)
6. Dark Loink(As if buffy wasn't enough flavor challenged for me)
7. Brooklynxman (wouldn't miss this for all the melange in the world)
8. Mavketl (Time to reread Dune! And what's up with 11 and 15 there?)
9. existential_elevator
13. BigNose (Missing until 31 Oct, getting real sand twixt toes)
15. Flying_Cookie (Dibs on Sandworm!)
16. Misterk (blah blah, fear, blah blah spice, blah blah unecessary sequels)
19. weiyaoli (Have to learn to say no to these things)

Claimed Atreides/Fremen (Going to assume these are town):
Adacore (Possible Atreides?)
Bignose (Fremen/?) (What is your other faction BN? Sorry if I missed it on my reread.)
F_C (Fremen/Lyncher)
E_E (Atreides Supporter)

Some idea on role:
Brook (Is some role that is capable of giving things to other people. Came into contact with something belonging to fremen. He could be the inventor that has been recieving the things as the item could have been the package dropped) Gurney Halleck?

Mav - Has BG win condition and is the House Fenring that e_e came across D1/N1. Doing some reading up on wiki, this leaves Lady Margot Fenring? @Mav, who is House Fenring protecting?

Unknowns:
greenlover
dark_loink
misterk

I would be fine with asking any of the above to roleclaim.

Yeah, I realized the problems with it after I made the post. However making her cop someone we know doesn't prove anything either; it would be obvious to lie and say Atriedes for NAR and I don't think there was any others that we were 100% sure of that didn't already claim.

Not seeing how this is a good reason. If you suspected he was the Kwisatz Haderach, even if the machine failed, what conclusion would everyone have drawn? I agree with this. I think even for someone pretty clueless on the flavour like me, reading all the role spec so far and doing some searches on wiki that there is a conflict between the Atriedes and Harkonnen. I think it's fairly safe to assume that their win conditions would reflect this.

The swinging between the probable and definite is going to be down to he doesn't know if there are roles that aren't atreides that want house harkonnen dead and vice versa are in the game (He seems to be saying that they probably are but he's not sure) whilst he can make the others more surely as they are 99.9% chance of being correct.

I don't understand how not knowing the flavour stops you from scum hunting. Sure you can't pick up on when someone is lying or stretching the truth about the flavour to push an opinion but that is hardly all of what scum hunting involves D1. e.g. krong thought silknor was fishing for information which didn't really require extensive flavour knowledge to point out.

An IGMEOY: BigNose while I try to work out if he is being scummy or just being confusing again.

As for FC, to be fair I think he would have had to remember that one specific passage in the book as I did a quick search on wiki and came up with nothing about slaughtering fremen for sport.

How well do you know the flavour cycoden? Because I am clueless regards to the flavour and certainly had no idea harkonnen killed fremen as sport to use your words and I don't think it's a very fair portrayal by using "even I" and then going with something this specific that you couldn't find on wikipedia as if this would have been common knowledge.

Re: Dune D1: Don't be shocked by the tone of my voice

I can't see the different win conditions make that much of a difference in scum hunting. Although there are no black and white scum and town factions, I think I get the impresson from wiki and role spec so far that in general the house harkonnen are generally the faction that is most likely to be scum and because it will be difficult to figure out from the thread exactly what faction someone belongs to, I think the "default" view this game will be adopting will be generally anti-harkonnen.

Now, granted, I could be wrong (and I'm always wary of sticking my neck out by saying something like this), but I don't see any of the Paul-Atreides-era factions being very cult-like, and I know this flavor pretty damned well. (Now, if we wanted to go way far into the future the Honored Matres would almost *certainly* be a cult...but that's completely outside the scope of this game I'm pretty sure.)

By a few thousand years, yes. I would be shocked and appaled if they showed up in this game after the claim is that this is based on the first half of the first book.

Speaking of which, what seems to be the cutoff point for which flavour is taken out of? (e.g. who is still alive at that point in the book that dies later on in the book?)

Re: Dune D1: Don't be shocked by the tone of my voice

I'll say now that all most of the flavour I know is from wiki, so probably not going to be great deal from me role-spec wise.

If there is a cult, I think it would fit with the warning:

VectorZero wrote:All players have two allegiences, and thus two win conditions.

Be wary of roleclaiming.

But I also think perhaps another reason to be wary of role claiming would be for certain players to have specific win conditions based on killing people.

Still I think cult is still most likely, though I doubt the mod will confirm anything since this is a closed set-up.
