External Microphone for Ipad/Ipod

I'm looking for ways to record higher quality sound for my personal video projects without spending too much money. to my knowledge, the Ipad 2 has a 3.5 mm input that i plug my headphones in. I was wondering if it would work to plug a microphone in the same way. the microphone that im considering i...

Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is MAGIC!

Cupcakes never really bothered me that much, but this song really made me cringe, I was pretty damn depressed for a day and half. But then i learned to giggle at the ghosty, guffaw at the grossly, and now it doesn't bother me at all.

On the subject of fan made songs

This 20 minute master piece is probably the most terrifying thing I've ever heard (i was on the verge of crying). It's based on Cupcakes and it tells the whole story of Pinkie's descent into madness.

Two objects with different mass in freefall

Ok, so we all know that if you got two objects with different mass falling in a vacuum, they will hit the ground at the same time. This means that they both have the same acceleration, but i still can't understand why. According to Newton's second law f=ma. If the force of gravity is constant and th...

Video Camera Suggestions

Hi, I am looking for a good video camera that shoots HD video for around 500 dollars (preferably a bit bellow since i will also be using the same money to buy a copy of Starcraft 2). I want it to be somewhat compact, with above average zoom (just maybe slightly above average), I'm going to be using ...

Popsicle stick bridge design

So i need to build a Popsicle stick bridge. I have two designs that i would like to try but time only permits one. Design A http://www.pisymphony.com/toothpick/design1.jpg (in the picture there are metal strings that are attached to both ends of the bridge, they won't be there on my version.) Design...

2 people with the same DNA?

So i was thinking. If your DNA is just a supper complicated "code" of molecules, then wouldn't it be possible for two unrelated people to have the same DNA just by pure luck? I think this probability must be ridiculously small or I'm just missing something.

Re: Home Made Rail Gun

I really have no idea how the setup for the cap should be...right now im going to be using a single charger from a disposable camera and it has 300 volts tops so im just going to connect all 36 of my caps in parallel.

Re: Home Made Rail Gun

"Average" caps from the flash mechanism of a disposable camera should be of similar power*. If you ask nicely, your 1-hour photo center should be able to give you a bunch of old disposable cameras**. that wouldn't be needed, my mom just came back from china and the caps were a lot cheaper...

Re: Home Made Rail Gun

You realize that's only about 150 Joules total, right? You're going to have to do better than that dude. What are you paying here and there? Yeah, i this just a prototype kind of deal, once i get this right I'm going to scale it bigger. I'm expecting something like 10 m/s from a aluminum foil ball,...

Re: Home Made Rail Gun

The funny thing is my mom is on a busyness trip in china right now and she'll be able to get the capacitor im looking for for a lot less money. (LOL). If your curious im getting about 24 capacitors, each of them have 330 volts and 120 micro farads.

Re: Home Made Rail Gun

Well...i know not to electrocute myself with the capacitors cuz i realize that there's quite a lot of voltage in there and yes i have found a few good instructions on Google but i thought i would make a post here since there's a lot of smart and helpful people. I already have plans so if no one post...

Home Made Rail Gun

I used the search bar and i don't think there is another post for this... I'm think about building a rail gun but I'm not exactly a genius engineer or physicist (sophomore in high school) and i would appreciate it if anyone would give any tips like the optimal size of the rail and the right capacito...

Re: Team Fortress 2/Source dedicated server networking

According to my dad, there's no such thing as a static DHCP...so either that's not the problem or he just doesn't know what a static DHCP is...either way I'm still fucked EDIT: OK i get what you meant by static DHCP, it is the same thing as port forwarding which i already correctly setup, sorry for ...

Bottle Rocket project, NEED HELP

So i have to make this bottle rocket. the teacher says it will be filled with water, the amount is up the me, then it will be pressurized with air to 80 psi. My design is to have fins on the bottom of the rocket that will make it spin when launched, a nose cone with some weights in it and a bunch of...
