Re: Simple Pen Art (was As-of-yet untitled webcomic)

I like the name! Though I like literalness :) I have a dirty mind too so Pen reminds me of Penis -- Simple Peen Art :P

Do you put your comics in a specific "sub reddit"?

Re: Fixed Characters

No! I need validation! Please! Someone validate my existence! Haha, no, I feel validated already. And yes, I need to add some line at the beginning that indicates it's unicode (or something) and then it should validate. Been on my list as well as cleaning up some of my sloppy php. Er, today's strip ...

Re: As-of-yet untitled webcomic

Pretty good stuff! The art has improved spectacularly (or at least the way it is rendered has improved spectacularly -- the early ones are pixelated to the point of distraction) -- I think the alien abduction one would be good to redo -- I had no idea what was going on until I read the alt text but ...

Re: Fixed Characters

words Thanks for the words! Very much appreciated. Glad you think at least some of the jokes are funny. That's all I can really hope for! The comic you talk about revising: I do think maybe I could be more clear on what I "mean" but on the other hand what you suggest isn't it either :) bu...

Re: Fixed Characters

Haha, yeah, that was a real thinker! I had to read it a couple of times. Today, there's another one that's pretty nerdy/geeky (it has to do with units!). Yeah, here: http://fixedcharacters.com/index.php?date=07032010 And glad you like the dog. I like the dog. The dog is pretty much the redeeming fea...

Re: "DFS" Discussion

The layout on the other hand makes me makes me want to punch Randal in the face so hard his momma feels it. The layout kind of bothered me at first, but after reading it a few times I think it is brave and interesting, and good. I wish more people would take chances like that! No more doing what is...

Re: Recommend me an awesome graphic novel

One Hundred Demons by Lynda Barry Wow, that's unexpected. Aw, why should it be unexpected that someone might have good taste? :D I think it is more crazy that after further research, the person I replied to, Ed Piskor, has ostensibly drawn some stories for Harvey Pekar, whom I unwittingly suggested...

I like Clowes a lot too! I need to check out that Wilson thing. Maybe it's time to pay off my library fines. A couple more non-super-hero suggestions: Safe Area Goražde by Joe Sacco One Hundred Demons by Lynda Barry Quitter by Harvey Pekar It's a Good Life, If You Don't Weaken by Seth The Boulevard ...

Re: Opera, Chrome, Firefox, OR?

K-Meleon http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/ Really like Chrome but it, like Firefox, kills my slow ass no-RAM computers. K-Meleon is based on Mozilla but is much lighter. I also like because with some twerking all the chrome can be minimized (I like looking at websites, not 4 inches of toolbars). Oh ye...

Re: Fixed Characters

Hey thanks for reading! Though that was not vicious enough. It is ok. I will forgive you. Also from now on only great jokes (just kidding, the jokes were always great). Today there is a different comic up! It has an obtuse pop culture reference, but understanding it is not required. There is at leas...

Re: Site revamp - ideas would be great!

Comicpress makes it nice and usable. I had no issue with moving around. Clicking on the dates on the calendar brought up smaller versions of the comic as "search results" (I guess) rather than just going to the page for that day. Don't know if that can be avoided. Not really a big deal. Th...

Re: INTRO THREAD THE THIRD

Hi, I'm Alden... this is the third geekiest forum I have ever registered on. I work with computers and then go home and play with computers, though often I am less sober at that point. I used to like reading but that got too complicated so I started reading comics (usually pretentious crap by people...

Re: Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy

If you can find/afford it, Hitachino Nest makes some excellent beers... I like the White Ale a lot, also XH which has hints of Sake/Shochu and their Ginger which has a nice subtle ginger flavor. And this probably doesn't need repeating, but I am an unabashed Stone fanboy... fortunately for me they a...
