Anything by Daniel Clowes would be a great choice, if you ask me. Someone else recommend him above. Not superhero-related, but still. The new book Dan Clowes did, Wilson, is freaking Fantastic. I recently came across a really cool website with a lot of great comics by some of my favorite cartoonists. I highly recommend it.
