1213: "Combination Vision Test"

http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/combination_vision_test.png Alt text: "If you see two numbers but they're both the same and you have to squint to read them, you have synesthesia, colorblindness, diplopia, and myopia." Well, I just see a circle filled with small numbers, so I guess I'm not spe...

Re: 1208: "Footnote Labyrinths"

My head really hurts from trying to follow these footnotes. I seem to be able to get to all the footnotes if I interpret them as footnotes of footnotes, but I end up on an infinite loop between 5, 2, and 6.

Re: 1168: Tar

Man you're fast! I almost had mine posted before I checked here.

I must say though... we'd all be dead if I were disarming the bomb, too. I can never keep the damn flags straight, either.

Android -- Parsing a Webpage -- Similary Classes to DBF?

I'm writing an app on the Android platform. The basic idea is that it goes to a page, grabs the videos listed on the page and displays them in the app. Here is the pseudocode for what I am trying to do: String titles[], views[], dates[], descriptions[]; URL links[]; //I'm not sure how I should go ab...

Re: "Period Speech" discussion (#771)

I lol'd, first at the absurdity, then at what I figured was a very realistic scenario, and then at the title-text's continuity drop.

My high score is 63...

Also, (to add more geekiness to this convo) I think the background image is Himeji Castle.

Re: Risk II Save Editing project I worked on

Why would you want to edit Risk II saves? I've never felt the need for it :) Lol, I suppose you do have a point... and I completely agree. It seems weird, but then again, you can do some pretty crazy stuff with it. I found out that they don't range check a lot of the integers (such as reinforcement...

Risk II Save Editing project I worked on

<lampshade> Anyways, I recently beta-released a project that I've been working on: Risk II Save Editor If you know any C#, I would highly recommend NOT looking at the source code. This is the first application I've ever written... ever . So, needless to say, it's not very pretty. But, the program w...

Re: C# String Hex Reading

Thank you so much, phlip. I'm so inexperienced with programming that it didn't even occur to me that you should read a binary file differently than a text file, but the way you explained it makes complete sense. Thank you so much! :D

Re: C# String Hex Reading

Thank you for offering your help, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for... I know how to convert individual characters such as "FF" to hex and such, but the trouble comes when you try to convert the character \u00FF to an integer (which should turn out to be 255). However with charac...

C# String Hex Reading

Okay, you can read the below if you want, but here's what I need: I need a reliable method for taking a 32-bit integer encoded in little-endian from a file and bringing it into the program as an integer. Thanks. So basically, here's the problem: I'm trying to read a save file for a game that I ...
