Maybe if you could collect your pre-order and keep the preorder slip (possibly with some dated mark to say it was collected) then it would be worthwhile... as long as you still had the collector's item... I don't know where you go, but I've never had to relinquish ownership of my pre-order receipt.

My Morrowind (with all patches) runs at around 130-140 fps outside and over 200 inside even with MGE. I think I'm doing it wrong because I've a 480 gtx as well and the guy above gets 30 outside. Will check out the blog and do what it says sometime when I've time. I'm not using the Morrowind Expande...

My MGE with the Brorrowind package of graphics enhancements runs at 60 FPS indoors (with SSAO) and about 30 outdoors (No SSAO, it conflicts terribly with the grass textures).

But then, I've got a GTX 480...

Yeah, but if you're playing with vanilla leveling, you're doing it wrong. There are so many mods out there to fix Bethesda's broken leveling system.

As far as I'm aware Steam gift cards don't exist. And generic Visas definitely do work on Steam, you just have to activate them online first so they can validate with an address.

You can't trust the guy online took the time to set up the display settings right, just as you can't trust the store did set them up right. Or set one up right to make it look better than the others. I've heard nothing of Reapers fighting amongst each other. What reason do they have to design weapons for use against themselves? That seems to be the simplest solution here. Considering what little impact anything you did in the first game had on the second, I don't see this decision being anything...
