Re: Languages.

I was in french immersion in school. Started in kindergarten, finished in grade 12. It's been a few years since I've practiced it regularly but I can still understand it and I still maintain my proper 'r' accent :)

I see. Caring and worry are different; however you can't really worry without caring and you certainly can care without worrying. I'm saying you should care, and not worry. Worry is counterproductive. Of course, if your goal is to be counterproductive you might want to worry, but then you'd be prod...

You shouldn't worry about the future. Things that you worry about in the future are just extensions of things that you worry about now. For instance: I'm worried that my degree won't be able to land me a job. Well that's fairly legitimate but really that worry just indicates that I'm not confident ...

Re: Why should I worry about the future?

After all, the person I'm going to be 5 years from now is rather different from how I am now, so why should I care about him? Because your life can change a lot in 5 years, what you want out of life now may be different than what you want in 5 years. And you could look back in 5 years time and wish...

Re: Atheism

Short version: who here is an atheist? How long have you been an atheist? Do you hide it? Is it ever a source of friction in your life? Should atheists help lift the scales from the eyes of the religious, and bring them into the divine light of Rational Science, that their souls may be saved and kn...

Re: humourous shirts

What funny t-shirts or other apparel do you have? I love ThinkGeek. Only they charge 24$ shipping to where I am in canada, and then I still have to pay 15$ to pick it up from the UPS store in town here, so If i order anything from them, it's a big order, and only once a year. I bought my hubby the ...

Re: Mortality

Poor little guy. I wonder when my oldest is going to figure out Mortality. She's only 3 1/2, and I find myself saying 'No he's just sick, he'll be ok' when she starts to look worried when a cartoon character in one of her kids movies is hurt or is going to die. (Damn Disney) We didn't have a lot of ...

Re: How'd you come up with your username(s)?

My maiden name kind of sounds like 'Sunkist' - it's swedish. I was trying to figure out a username on another site once, something other than JUST sunkist, so added the 'babe' on the end. Once I get a nym i like, i tend to stick with it a *long* time

Re: Programmers: Math nerds or Artists?

We usually have the overhead lights off in our developer's room. Mostly because the fluorescents bother our eyes, I found myself developing a lot of headaches from the flicker. So we turn them off and just let in light from the windows. I have 2 right next to my desk so I get a lot of natural light....

Re: INTRO THREAD 2.0: INTRODUCE YOURSELF OR PERISH!

You have the City of Atlantis as your avatar. ergo, win. Ya, i'm a huge fan. Our 2nd girl is named Samantha (if she was going to be a boy - he would have been named Cameron) And funny thing is her hair right now looks like Samantha Carter's - so I bought a tiny cammo outfit for her for Halloween. I...

Re: INTRO THREAD 2.0: INTRODUCE YOURSELF OR PERISH!

That's right, kiddies, this is the new and (hopefully) improved Introductions Thread! This thread is for you newbies to introduce yourselves, BEFORE you make any other posts. Alrighty, My brother (Mighty Jalapeno) sent me the links to the comics. And I'm his older sister! Not his younger one as he ...
