Plasma is not necessarily a particle becoming excited, but rather the particle gaining or losing electrons. However, given our atmospheric gasses, ionizing the air won't do. When lightning forms, it ionizes the surrounding air, creating a stream of plasma (that we _usually_ can't see) that allows fo...

Can someone give some insight on what math and game theory have to say about raising in no limit poker? That is an incredibly general question. Are you asking about when to raise pre-flop? Post flop? How much to raise? There are tons of facets to this. And even after all this, the ultimate rule of ...

I looked at a few maps, and it appears to me that ocean currents are a big factor here. New Zealand actually seems to split a warm water current such that it has warm water flowing down on either side of it. Nova Scotia, on the other hand, has a cold water current coming down just to its east, that...

Firstly, irrational numbers tend not to have fraction equivalents, since ... well ... they aren't rational. Proof: Say x is an irrational number and r is a rational nonzero number. We want to show x/r is irrational. Suppose for the contrary that q := x/r is rational. Then x = qr. But q,r are ration...

Math Challenge - Irrational Numbers (make a proof)

I pondered this the other day, but I haven't done anything with my thoughts since I am not a big math geek. Also, not having been exposed to many proofs involving irrational numbers, I thought I'd throw it into the intellectual area. Prove that all irrational numbers , when divided by any rational n...

I've had similar wireless problems. First, make sure that the signal is able to get to your computer. Try putting your computer right next to the damned router and see if it still has the same problems.

If not, throw a CAT5 on that bitch. I hate wireless (unless that's the only thing available).
