Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - All Things Women. Period.

While I do appreciate Shark Week making an attempt to return to a more regular length cycle, I wish it could have waited until Monday...in case a 15 mile cycle ride and my first time in a boat in months didn't have enough potential to be painful. So tomorrow should be fun... ::sighs::

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts (Random like the plague)

I don't even particularly remember my GCSE results day now. I can just about remember my results now if I think...remembering the subjects at all, let alone how the grades match up is more difficult. Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts (Random like the plague)

Returning to the now slightly old conversation: the trick to cooking for one person is to learn to love leftovers and your freezer. One or two portions of leftovers are fine in the fridge for lunch or dinner the next day or two, and any more than that goes in the freezer. This means you always have ...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts (Random like the plague)

It is probably more useful as shorthand if you have a significantly stronger relationship with one set than the other. Me saying parents could only refer to my mum and dad or my mum and stepdad; it would never refer to my dad and the evil stepmother. Context generally makes it very clear who I mean ...

Re: Fleeting/Random/Thoughts (Random like the plague)

I've recently (probably in the last 6 months or so) started referring to my mum and stepdad (they've been married for nearly 6 years) as 'parents' sometimes because it is quicker and easier, and all my friends know I mean my mum and stepdad anyway, as none of them are under the illusion my dad would...

Re: [SAFESPACE] Woman Thread - All Things Women. Period.

Speaking of Shark Week...so after 5 or 6 months (since coming off the pill and keeping track) of 30-32 day cycles, I had a 40 day cycle (which I pretty much put down to exam stress) then a 36 day cycle (which I put down to settling back down). But then a few days after Shark Week ended (after the us...

Thanks, I'll give it a try. However, as I know my weaknesses, if I emerge from the apple store with a brand new, top of the range Air that I can't possibly afford could you front me my bus fare home? I have the same weakness -- when I went in a couple weeks ago just to check prices on the MacBook I...

Re: Rant Thread - The Spites of Wraith

It's worth just going to speak to them anyway and see what they say, even if you can't convince them they should fix it for free (which admittedly is probably rather a lot more difficult in your case than it was in mine). I've had pretty good experiences with Apple generally when I've broken things,...

I'd go to the Apple store with some semi-convincing story about how it is definitely their fault that it is broken and has nothing to do with you...it worked to get the hard drive replaced on my old MacBook after I dropped it several feet onto a train platform... Just want to add in here, unless Quorn is different in the States, that it has egg white and so isn't vegan. (It is delicious, however.)

I've used a Mooncup for about a year and a half now I think -- so much easier and more comfortable! Since getting my IUD my flow is a lot heavier the first couple days, though, so it's still a bit of a pain to deal with and most definitely not something I want to worry about on holiday.

On a completely unrelated note, I just butchered my old favourite pair of jeans -- they got a big rip in them on the inside of the thigh too high to get away with, and I've held onto them anyway because I couldn't quite bear to part with them. I find scrambly egg is the best variety, although fried also works apparently. Heresy! It has to be a fried egg with a runny yolk, to dip the chips and bacon in! Agreed! (Minus the bacon...) I tried to make egg and chips last week, only to fail miserably with the egg, so I just had chips really. I ...
