Re: Public Perception Changes Based on Wardrobe Changes

People with glasses ooze authority. I've found that I can boss people around without question if I lower my glasses and look over them while saying things sternly. Honest to God, I've made entire groups of full-blown adults sit down and be quiet. I think it has to do with people's reaction towards c...

How are they supposed to get a warrant to seize the hard drives? Historically, IP holders have been able to secure "John Doe" warrants on crimes perpetrated by IP addresses, in the same way that any person or agency can for any crime where there's clear evidence but no identification. The...

Bamboo cutting boards are something I've come to like. They wash clean and stay smooth very nicely, and don't warp easily. They are about as hard on knives as those industrial white plastic boards but they don't take metal off, just the edge. They're a whole lot cheaper than other hardwood cutting b...

Without anger, we as a species would have been picked off by, well, anything. Bored otters, horny chimpanzees, uppity rabbits. Anger, contempt, embarrassment, guilt, relief, and shame all have value. Also, there really isn't a separation between "emotions" and "thoughts"; they're...

Who really cares whether a beer is "overrated" or "underrated" when deciding on a six-pack? Do you really base your enjoyment of a beer on some kind of idiotic meta-esteem? If you buy a beer that is overrated, or avoid a beer because it's underrated, then you base your enjoyment...
