As I said earlier, if it's Saturday I absolutely can't make it, but I honestly wouldn't mind driving 12 hours on Sunday to get there. My big issue is rationalizing the cost, as well as the fact that I have a lot of homework to do (I COULD always do it during the week) and I'm also going out of town ...

He was probably only making that comment because he's used to being the youngest everywhere This is correct. I skipped a grade in elementary school, so until very very recently I almost never associated with people younger than me (or even the same age as me) And one not-well thought out comment la...

So I come home today, exhausted and hungry, and thouroughly wanting to relax and eat something, when my roomate asks me "did you pay rent on time?" "Yes" I assured her, because I did pay the rent, in full, on time. "There was a failure to pay notice on the door" ... I h...

Gah, the 22nd is my roommate's birthday, so I can't really skip out on that. Still, after all is said and done I could still drive out and get there Sunday morning...I don't have class Monday, so that wouldn't be an issue. Also Albuquerque -> Austin -> Albuquerque is 84 gallons of gasoline...

I'm in New Mexico, so Texas is a lot closer than the east coast... I seriously doubt I'd be able to go, but if it's happening I'll try, dammit! Also, a bunch of my friends just moved to Austin to work for Blizzard...I could use an excuse to drive out and see them. And drinking is ALWAYS a good excuse.

Bamboo sprouts are a very common vegetable in Asian cooking. You don't eat grown bamboo--it'd be like eating hardwood. Bamboo sprouts are generally harvested within a few hours of sprouting, while they're still soft. They still have a sort of woody texture to them, but they're absolutely delicious.

but here in BC we do have a very high Asian population, and a large number of really, really good Asian restaraunts. It does help that you're right next to an ocean, too. I did go to a sushi place when I was in Vancouver over the summer, and it was pretty decent. Not amazing, but decent. I was sad ...

Beer was mentioned, but is frankly too weak for good moping, unless you have a lot of it. I suggest rum. And lots of it.

<List of sushi restaurants> You're lucky you live in an area that has a big enough Asian population to support good sushi restaurants. I lived in Japan, and since coming back to the states I haven't found a Japanese restaurant here that doesn't serve inedible garbage. Of course, "here" is...

Real men cook for themselves, not guilt-trip women into doing it for them. Damn straight! Also, chicks like it if you can cook a meal for them. My only problem with cooking is that I'm too lazy to do it often. Usually I'm too caught up in whatever else I'm doing and would rather the food just mater...
