UNIX: you can do anything you want, as long as you're willing to spend forever learning how to do it. (As opposed to Windows, where you can't do anything at all, but you can do it right away.)

From Wikipedia : Penis size In the ancient Mediterranean world, small male genitalia seem to have been preferred to large[citation needed] - when a classical statue portrays a deity, hero or idealised human such as the Apollo Belvedere (whose small testes suggest a small penis, which is so small it ...

Did you know that "Mickey" is a recreation of a song named "Kitty" by the group "Racey"? (Lyrics here.) The song really feels different when you switch the genders around...

Not that I actually believe that, but it was a charming little belief system that seems to h...

I desperately need to do something about my poor WIS modifier. I seem to have a pitiful Sense Motive check and Search check, and I keep failing my Will saves for getting off of the computer and doing what I "ought" to be doing, like not staying up until four in the morning reading webcomic...

Isn't there a "mixed strategy" equilibrium in which each person goes for the hot girl with probability X and the average girl with probability 1-X? If you apply " superrationality " you have to end up with a mixed strategy. See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_%28game%29 .

In electrical engineering, "c" stands for capacitance. As someone who graduated with an electrical engineering degree, I still don't know why they chose "i" for current - it might have something to do with some non-English language. Also, what I learned in my complex analysis cla...

In the long run, we are all dead. The Sun will expand and engulf the Earth, the stars will burn out, and entropy must increase to maximum. There is no higher purpose to life than what we see in front of us. However, this is no reason to get upset. We have to create our own purpose in this world. It ...

Hi. This is my first post here. I love arguing about this kind of thing. 1) "Last Thursdayism" is, in fact, a proposition that can be assigned a truth-value. Just because - by hypothesis - a resident of this universe cannot know that it is true or false does not mean that it is neither tru...
