Korpiklaani -Korven Kuningas-

Ha! Awesome! On the jewel case there's a picture of this forest dude with antlers and he's got a spear I guess and on the back is the band with olde tyme instruments looking all SEVERE and FINNISH. In the little book with lyrics in it are small notes about the songs; like how war has left its mark o...

Re: You gotta get into Dwarf Fortress if you haven't already.

I smoothed the obsidian wall and then carved a fortification right into it. The engraver died immediately from the heat and smoke and lava and death but the fortification hasn't melted yet. Smoothing rock and then making a fortification is different from [b]uilding a [c]onstruction and designating a...

Re: You gotta get into Dwarf Fortress if you haven't already.

I seem to have found all 3. Well, not much Obsidian, as only the magma creates that. So, all along the sides of the magma column. If I need a lot of it, I'll find a way to make it. Also, I'm gonna need to find some Bauxite soon, as I want access to magma without dealing with crappy imps. You can bu...

What I trade for when the fortress is hellishly wealthy:

Cages (for cage traps)
Steel bars
Charcoal
Bituminous Coal (I always have a fuel crisis if I don't have magma)
Food & Drink
Serrated Disks
Gold bars, Copper bars, Silver bars
Animals of all kinds
Everything except crafts

Ask for lots.

Yeah, health care's still buggy. Make sure you have a barracks, some buckets, and a water source. That's about all you can do. Known specific problem with health care: If they have a mangled limb, and their job is set to 'no job' instead of 'rest', you have to destroy their bed and rebuild it (like ...

I hate Leyawiin because it's clear the hell down there and ruins my traveling salesman problem of getting all the quests done as efficiently as possible. Otherwise I like the atmosphere. Kind of like gritty-ass slums. Bravil is sort of like that too but doesn't look like it as much.

This game seems immensely fun, but will take some time getting into... I can't make my fisherdwarf go ahead and build the fishery, so my storeroom just got filled up with raw fish. My favorite thing is finding wounded guards laid up in a barracks because they were off enforcing some impossible mandate and the dwarf they were going to beat breaks their legs.

I like having guards around because they're like the only people that bring food & water to wounded people.

I'm starting to move towards the idea of a floodable entrance area, where I can (In theory, using double or triple deep floodgates) trap an invading force and drown the bastards. That would be a cool thing to try but you'd probably drown less of your own people if you just use the serrated disc Dis...
