Re: unhatched fishes and turtle excluding devices

Can anyone tell me the quickest way to get to the StartUp folder in Windows 8? Because from a support point of view it seems like a pain in the arse. Got the user to do something that kinda brings up a start menu, File Explorer, then manually browsing to the location (navigating the hidden "al...

Re: The Forum Games Discussion Thread

So, my question for forum games discussers is - what would a 'collaborative word building' game look like? How could it be made fun and interesting? You could have some sort of system where you create a pretend etymology for a word. Start: Poom refers to a stick used to move logs around in a fire S...

Re: Chiro quackery - now on bebbies!

Well, it doesn't, really because a) spineologists (the way I've defined the term) don't claim that the stupid parts of chiropractic aren't stupid and b) I don't think anybody here thinks that the fact that SMT kind of works for back pain is a vindication of the stupid parts of chiropractic. But you...

Re: Chiro quackery - now on bebbies!

--very ninja'd as I got distracted while writing this. I think the problem here is that there are a lot of different types of practices that go under the heading of chiropractics and people are using the same word for very different things. Re: Chiro quackery - now on bebbies!

Chiropractors tend to move the goalposts a lot when discussing what they do, and I think that's happening here a bit. If you want to claim that all they do is treat lower back pain with SMT, and they study for four years to know everything there is to know about that, then cool, I guess they're SMT...

How did you have a girlfriend before if you never had a second date? I've had a girlfriend for over a month before we had our first 'date' in the past. I think maybe it's partly a cultural difference between the US and the UK - in the US 'going on a date' is much more of a standard relationship-ini...

Re: Two cards - one ace. Advanced 7 grade problem

Why does the following not work: Bob From jaap: There are 1*3=3 ways to draw a pair of aces that includes the ace of spades. There are 1*48=48 ways to draw just the ace of spades and no other ace. So the probability for Bob to have two aces is 3/(48+3) = 1/17 Alice There is 1/4 chance that t...
