Strangely, for xkcd being a match that makes absolute no sense, I never type it wrong and only saw it once to remember it. Found it once, glanced, then was able to remember it 7 hours later when I came back to the site to register and stuff.

No, i think it works with the plot. That was also one of the reasons i didn't play Morrowind for very long. Everyone was so damned negative. It gets better as you level your personality. They still call you outlander but it's more like "So glad to see you, outlander" instead of "whad...

Turns out I was confusing them for some species of frog. Goldfish can survive if their pond freezes over (not solid), given that there is enough oxygen and that the water eventually warms up again.

Definitely not true. That may be when it entered English, but it was around before that in other languages. The Mesha Stele, for instance, from 850 BC.

The English-language alphabet originally had only 24 letters. One missing letter was J, which was the last letter to be added to the alphabet. The other latecomer to the alphabet was U. "Fan" is an abbreviation for the word "fanatic." Toward the turn of the 19th century, various ...

It was a half joke. In Morrowind it took 15 swings to kill a rat when you're wielding a warhammer with the blunt skill of 35. That's a bit unrealistic, eh? Warhammer = 5 times the size of the rat. And you miss?

Mixing up 'then' and 'than', 'its' and 'it's', 'your' and 'you're', and 'their' and 'they're', are relatively common mistakes in English. There's no update to the language, they're just mistakes. They all still irritate the hell out of me, though. It's not that complicated to learn the distinctions...
