What have I done to "Windows Task Manager" ????

I'm running on Win XP and recently had the task manager open (CTRL, ALT + DEL). Usually there's a red cross in the top right hand corner (like most programmes I suppose) that allows me to close it. Well, I don't know what I've pressed, but the cross has now completely gone, so if I want to close it,...

I'm not sure that this can be solved, but I'll wait and see :) The politician can always answer in such a way that you won't know who's who. For instance if you ask them, "is this the correct road to take?" the politician will always answer with the opposite to the truth teller. If you ask...

Re: Coins and balances - a different twist

A naive lower bound for number of weighings would be 3. Each weighing has one of three possible outcomes -- left side heavier, right side heavier, or both the same. This particular puzzle has 10 possible situations. 3^2 is less than 10 but 3^3 is more than 10. The reason that's not quite right is t...

I might be over-looking something here, but I can't see how it works ..... Looking at the bottom line: AAA - BBB = half circle; solid circle; half triangle. A has to be larger than B, otherwise we'd end up with a negative result and there's no negative sign in the result (unless one or m...

MSCONFIG is very limited. Get Autoruns from http://www.sysinternals.com ; it probes a much more exhaustive range of places where auto-starting programs may lurk. To take a wild guess, perhaps you have some device that launches WMP when it is plugged in? What about disks in your drives? That's what'...

I've gone into MSCONFIG to disable it from the start up menu, but the damn thing keeps on reappearing when I start up my PC, so I'm assuming that there's something in the WMP options that tells it to start up automatically when I start up my PC (similar to Windows Live Messenger).
