Weird commercials

What's the weirdest commercial you've ever seen? I think I'd have to go with a certain orangina commercial, which can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ck14LKBI9GM . It kind of disturbs me that that must have been aired on TV some time... Can you imagine some little kid asking his parents w...

Re: Taking it seriously: The zombie problem

Just out of curiousity, how good of a hiding spot would an small island be if it had only one major access point (a ferry from another small island,) the ability to grow enough food to sustain itself, and a low population. What would the zombie-attack risk be? Also, will a zombie walk into the ocean...

Re: Calvin and Hobbes

Somehow, the Minus webcomic brings back echoing memories of Calvin & Hobbes to me, although I don't know how. I also like xkcd and Far Side. I used to be a garfield fan, but then I noticed it was boring and formulaic.

Re: My Pokemanz, let me show you them...

I think that all the games had something going for them, honestly Red, blue and yellow have the best nostalgia value for me, but the game balance was a bit broken, with psychic>everything else. It was good for goofing around by yourself, but if you actually battled people who knew what they were doi...

Re: My Pokemanz, let me show you them...

I think it's a decent enough game, as long as you don't believe the "catch'em all" trick they use to encourage purchases. I played a while ago, and I found that it was decent enough if you just grabbed a few you liked and used them, instead focusing on having 432 (or whatever the heck it i...

Re: Taking it seriously: The zombie problem

I live in a COMPLETELY rural farm area, so I'd be pretty safe. If the outbreak is far away, and it's not summer, we could probably just cut off access by destroying bridges (I live in a river-delta type area, with a river on each side, forming a triangle at my back, and the ocean in front of me.) So...

Re: Black Holes and Gravity

IIRC, photons have a very tiny mass (because they have energy and the whole e=mc^2 thing), and that gravitons don't definitely exist.

Re: Space flight sims: A dead genre

I just wiki'd Tie Fighter, and I gotta get me that! The only star wars flight game I ever played was Rogue Squadron, and that was all on planets. Is it still available (maybe at specialty stores? LucasArts Stores?), or should I go looking for it on Bittorrent? I get a feeling that obtaining a legal ...

Re: D&D security nerd rant

Yeah, I would have said the tower of a good wizard instead of an elven wizard, but "good wizard" gives me Wizard of Oz vibes.

Re: D&D security nerd rant

I find that a good way to make solvable, but tricky traps is to use cultural clues, things that vary between different D&D races. For example, early in the game, have a trapped room owned by an elfen mage, with a variety of magical animal shaped tiles on the floor. The ones that are considered &...

That's right. You got it about 7 times faster than I did, too. Then again, I'm just a high-school student.

Simple Math Puzzle

Hello, everyone! I found this puzzle in a science magazine, and I thought you might like it, although it's a bit less complex then some of the ones you've seen around here. # / # x # = 1 - F F # F # F # = 22 + F F # + # - # = 3 = = = 6 -5 4 In case you can't read my attempt at ASCII, it's a five by ...
