Re: Apathetic Scientists Hurt Science

It's probably simply because you've based your beliefs more solely on those reasons than I have. I've been Christian for quite a while now and my experiences with whom I believe is god has led me to consider a great many things about who he is and what exactly he means to me. I believe he has also l...

Introduction I was writing this when my someone commented, "are you writing a book?" So I said, "yes, as a matter of fact, I am." This post covers not only specific issues here, but the basis of some of my beliefs that relate to the topic. Chapter 1: Apologies and Understanding 2...

Hey, I was just giving him a "crisp response" like the OP advocates giving to people who we feel are "totally irrational to believe in such poorly evidenced drivel." Anyhow, it is possible that I may sound too crisp (as in bordering blatant hostility), and if I do, I apologize. I...

You know, I've thought similar things. Why not a game that allows you to plug in an actual electric guitar or keyboard or drum set. If Rock Band can recognize pitch decently, then why not have a PC game or even a console game that you can use to actually learn to play an instrument . You coul...

Seriously? Remove religion? So what about the next time a group of people have an idea that you don't think is reasonable, should they give you a call and make sure you're ok with it? What about current religious documents? Just burn it all, right? We wouldn't want to encourage sense offenders and S...

So it's also a bit of misinterpretation (is this possible? I am implying there are wrong interpretations of the bible) on the part of the religious. Oh definitely. For example, when the bible says that if your eye causes you to sin you should cut it out, would you, in all seriousness, cut your own ...

Yeah, I heard that soon after watching the movie, but at the time of watching it, there's no way to know for sure, and that's what really made it hit me like it did. I believe this was intentional and a bit genius.
