Re: Create Your Own Society

OOC: OOC: I wonder if we're soon due for another "mod event"... Hm, well, the original idea was for one event to be resolved; upon which we'd skip ahead a few decades or centuries to the next big event. The purpose was to let time progress faster than is common in these games. Also, I'm th...

Re: Create Your Own Society

Before the Harvesters existed, the seas were chaos. Piracy was everywhere. Many would sail out and not return. Others came back with a large catch suspiciously fast. Boats would land, rob a house and depart again. Land folk mistrusted sailors and sailors were afraid of each other. One day, three sa...

While many Harvesters have responded quickly to the exodus order. Others are hesitant. Most among the hesitant are scuole members or craftsmen with a more land-oriented customer base. In a massive treehouse on a windswept island, a meeting is going on. Behind each of the nine heavily tattooed figures hangs a plaque holding one sword and two tattooed arms. Once running, they will generate enough electricity for a city twice the size of Belfast - about 230,000 homes. I agree that a city is easier to visualize than a megawatt. What I find annoying about these kinds of comparisons is that they're usually only talking about homes, even though residential...

Re: Game of Thrones: The TV Show (novelisation coming soon)

I didn't mean it as a critique or a "people should pay attention more to this thing!", just a personal observation that I really enjoyed it. I also think sometimes the music is secondary in the show, considering the big events happening on-screen. Perhaps in this case it was more obvious ...

It's usually park rangers that do the live horn removal. The goal is not to harvest the horn, but to keep the rhino alive. A hornless rhino is less interesting for poachers.

Re: fictional planetary system

A mutual seeding event from a third locale should get you there. Assuming similar rates of development, such a period seems at least reasonably possible. That's kind of what I had in mind. One ancient life bearing planet being smashed to smithereens, spreading the seeds of life to a bunch of planet...

I think part of the issue, as I see it anyway, is that a simple swap of the naughty bits still leaves the -masculinity- and -feminity- of the roles in place. To wit: Male = Masculine = Powerful Female = Feminine = Weak. From what I saw of Diaz' treatment (which I might not have seen all of it, cell...
