Re: Post your computing setup

Edit: The GeForce MX 4000 has a very loud cooler. Would it affect it if I unplugged it? I don't game on it. If you have room for it (i.e. no cards in the two or so slots below), just strap a 80 mm fan to it, run it (the fan) at 5 volts and unplug the old one. I did that with my old AGP ATI card. Mu...

If you're going to put the HDD on a desktop, do not boot from it; it will not work if it's Windows 2000/XP/Vista. Just get the files from your desktop's OS.

Which version of Xubuntu did you try? The ATI free drivers that come with (X/K)Ubuntu 8.04 are way better than the previous ones.
By the way, I use a Radeon 9600PRO, and it's fast enough to use compositing.

So, I'm a strong, rich and blessed guard. Kinda odd.

You people have inspired me. I'd buy all the atomic and H-bombs in the world, and aim a certain number of them into each monument of significance to mankind. Then I'd proceed to mount in one (not sure which) and ride it to its destination, no forgetting the cowboy gear and hat.

I'll go with AMD now, and switch the motherboard from the M2A to the M3A, and remove the external video card. It has a 780G chipset, which according to Axman, matches a HD3450. It brought down the price by 20 dollars :P
