Playing basketball when I was umm.. 15 or so... twisted on my leg badly and tore the ligament holding my kneecap in place. So I land on my ass and look at my (extraordinarily painful) knee. My kneecap is sitting on the side of my leg. I think "that doesn't look right at all... the front is flat...

With your tables that size, I'd recommend looking at partitioning your tables (http://www.postgresql.org/docs/8.1/inte ... oning.html)
