Actually, not technically true - there are no original castles in America, but there are a few replicas built by very wealthy people. They seem to be more like crennelated mansions, though. Another thought - we've assume that the "sea" is salty, partly due to cuegan *calling* it a sea, and that they apparently don't like its taste. Here Cueball is explicitely talking about river water making the sea fresher, so it should be salt water... http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/time/b849...
