Re: Overwatch

Or a Hanzo complaining that no one on their team is playing a healer. I think Mercy is about sustain and healing the back lines. I don't think you should be pushing with the heavy à la TF2. You should have multiple teammates around you that you can fly to to avoid fire (hold jump to float), and they...

Re: Homeworld

Yeah, I was clearly expecting more. And Battleborn had the same problem. I'm guessing it has something to do with Randy Pitchford.

Also, it turned out that the big deal that was holding back the release of the patch was the GOG release.

Re: Homeworld

Patch is out, and the game is 50% off for the next few days. It's good. I just played a 1v1 where my opponent opened with a lot of interceptors, and I build scouts. Since it has actual ballistics now, the scouts were almost untouchable to the interceptors in formation. They probably should have swit...

Re: Overwatch

Mobility comes from abilities, which could be disabled if you have the flag. There are two flags in CTF. Red flag and Blue flag. Red team defends red flag, blue team defends blue flag. When the flag is captured, the flag then teleports back to the defense-team's base. Honestly, a speedy character l...

I think people mean to say that it's a MOBA in the first few hours because there are a lot of classes and powerful abilities that you need to learn in order to make good decisions.

Let's say you're playing Pharah and you use her jump jet, and then you die somewhere at the top of the jump. You watch the kill cam of the person who killed you, and you notice that you didn't even use jump jet at all. This is entirely a tick rate issue. Your client never sent the packet telling the...

It does force you to be a sort of drive-by saboteur commando. To be more clear, the exploration aspect of the large world is at odds with everything else. You can explore in peace, but if you want to do much of anything then you need to run, in which case you're locked out of being able to explore f...

I would recommend playing the demos of Just Cause. One of the things that isn't really communicated unless you play it is how pointless a lot of the destruction feels, and how the rapid response military makes it a little frustrating. If you decide you want to liberate some town by blowing up the Op...

Re: Gaming fleeting thoughts

It took me around five hours to learn the maps and classes in the beta. It's not too bad. I don't have much to say about the game though. I did have more fun than I was expecting. It's very alright for a free to play game, except it's not, so ends our relationship. 20 tick in a full priced game, no ...

[Offworld Trading Company] I think it's one of the most brilliant games I've ever played. It's got enormous strategic depth, and requires keeping track of a crazy amount of stuff and things. It's extremely underrated. It's interesting how everything is about supply and demand. One can say that food...

Having an expansive galaxy to navigate yourself is the logical progression of the main theme of the series. Well, for instance on the west boss (which was the most difficult boss for me), I found that you can chain dash up to the boss at the start of the fight to get some free hits in. Oh. Well that's simple because you can never objectively say what is sufficient for any given person. Pretty much everything in the game could, conceivably, be defeated in the first try. Not likely, sure, but it's quite possible. I could see someone who played Demon's & Dark beating Dark Souls II with no deaths. I've heard people say this, but I completely disagree. You can see the traps if you...

The thing that turns me off to the series is that it forces trial and error on everyone. That mod doesn't work since it hasn't been updated with the patches, and a lot of the community and modding interest has died off. It has been in a perpetual "waiting for the next patch to fix things" state. You can just select the option in classic though.
