Re: "Scrabble" Discussion

I had a really awkward situtation with Scrabble when my militant Catholic grandma spelled "tits". Of course, that really can't compare with getting "orgy" while playing catchphrase with my extended family and my mom.

Re: Graphics Card Performance Trouble

You know, we keep assuming that it's a driver problem (game.amd.com has drivers that work with the card) but because COD multiplayer works just fine I think that's a sign that it's something else entirely. What happens when you run a 3D game in a window? If you can, do that while running something ...

Re: Graphics Card Performance Trouble

Why buy a mediocre card if you already have a card that is also of that particular class of mediocre value  Personally, I would have bought a 8600 or 8800. If you're going to game, at LEAST get an 8800 and an Core2Duo... Those combined only cost around $300, max. http://www.guru3d.com/article...

Re: Graphics Card Performance Trouble

For the record, you're not going to match other people's tests with that processor, but you should under no circumstances see worse performance than with an 8500 GT. I mean, the 4670's in a completely different class of card. Also, make sure that you've completely removed your old NVIDIA software: ...

Graphics Card Performance Trouble

I just installed an HD 4670 (512 MB DDR3) on my computer. I have the drivers installed and it is displaying fine, but it is performing much worse then I expected (in many cases worse then the 8500 GT I used previously). Here are my components: 2 GB SATA RAM Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 2.80GHz (2 CPUs)...

Re: Graphics Card Choice/Powering

Yeah, you won't have any problems using a PCI-Express 2.0 video card with any 1.1 motherboard (like yours). But that processor of yours consumes a lot of power, so I wouldn't ever use any video card that requires auxiliary power with that rig. Also, that motherboard doesn't appear to have support f...

Re: Graphics Card Choice/Powering

That card will use too much power and is highly overpriced for its relative performance. But I can't say if a 300W PSU will be enough one way or another without knowing what other components you have in your computer. If you want to play it safe but still guarantee some decent framerates, your best...

Graphics Card Choice/Powering

I've been trying for a couple of weeks unsuccessfully to get CoD:4 multiplayer to work on my computer. I'm pretty certain that it's a graphics card issue, because right now I have an 8500 GT.
