I've read that CO 2 poisoning is painful, not so sure about CO. Maybe Nitrogen asphyxiation could be better? I've read that as it's pretty much just oxygen starvation, it's actually euphoric just before death, but that may not sit well with people, because they want the accused to suffer just enough...

Pie Cust is one of those recipies that works pretty well with non-gluten flours, I'm partial to the cup-4-cup brand, but have had good results from bob's red mill version as well.

I've found golden syrup as a good replacement for corn syrup. It comes in a smaller container, and has more uses in my kitchen than corn syrup (In tea, in cocktails, on pancakes, with cream on scones, etc.)

I have a "silenced pistol" that is one-time use. I haven't used it, because if I shoot another MI6 agent I am terminated, and I don't have a good handle on who's in "the evil organization" and who is MI6.
