I apologize for my lack of long posts. I've just been a busier this week than I thought I would be with teachers trying to get assignments in at the last minute. I have no argument with eliminating minimum wage laws, but until they are, we shouldn't have them apply to one group and not apply to another. For example, when Friday comes around, I likewise don't want an employer telling a guy he doesn't get a paycheck because he knows the employee isn't in a po...

Re: Are you entitled to your money?

There are advantages to being one nation (national defense, for instance). Common defense is a function of the U.S. being a country , not of it being a nation. We typically conflate the two, but, ironically, the term "national defense" really has nothing to do with our status as a nation ,...

Does Andreea Bălan count as rap (that song is much more rap-like than her others)? She's not obscure in Romania, though. The band she was in before, André (so named because it was made up of her and Andreea Antonescu) was much more rap-like, but I don't especially like them. That song and this one a...

I think you need to put advertising in perspective. Advertizers know that they need to expose consumers to their message a number of times before they start seeing results. Also, at any one time, maybe only 5% of the people are in the market for something new or different. When Coke advertizes &quo...

I'm not sure about this one. The Fed can cause recessions, but monetary policy is extremely useful in both expansionary and contractionary scenarios.
