Re: Could I get a bit of social support on this?

Well, did you have the chance to have these arguments with real people (presumably friends) but turned them down, so to speak, to instead have them on the internet?

Physicists should be extremely good at playing pool. I've gotten stuff like "Hey, you're good at math. I bet you're great at pool!" WTF. Not only is it a terrible assumption, it's a massive slap in the face to professional pool players who spend years acquiring their skills. Instead, peop...

I wouldn't call you an asshole. I've been confronted with that same situation several times through high school and I always had the most insane urge to punch the person in the teeth, because maybe the shock would turn their brains back on and they'd realize "Oh dear, what a pathetic lemming I...

I don't understand people. Everyone seems likes this guy at my highschool (luckily he is leaving). He spends most moments of conversation depicting how many girls he has banged or any other sexual endeavor (I'm good friends with some of the girls in question.. he's lying through his teeth. <sarcasm>...

Which, incidentally, means getting bigger for some reason, even though the numbers are smaller. I know this only because I happened to look the AWG system up for something unrelated yesterday, and thought I'd inform everyone. You probably also noticed that that's a disgustingly large jump :P . American Wire Gauge system, in case you were wondering. It is, by far, the most annoying system ever. That is all.

Putting down your Nutella wouldn't help your body; you'd be seriously neglecting your taste buds and your mental health. How do you put down something so delicious?

By the way, what the fuck? Billy Mays?

So, what's the law status on malware? I'm almost completely uninformed. I just know how to get rid of the shit. By the way, how would one define malware? Could an explicit clause in a EULA/TOS override any malware laws? I've never really thought about this before.

"I'm not a racist/homophobe/sexist/whatever but..." And that's where I stop listening. Honestly, I find it hard to say that you shouldn't ever make generalizations. Our brains work by association and in order for that to be effective we need to generalize quite bit. In essence we've all ev...

I don't think agnosticism and atheism are mutually exclusive. In fact, I think level six on the Dawkins scale is a perfect example of an agnostic atheist: someone who can't know for certain (agnosticism) but assumes s/he/they exist (atheism). I've met a few agnostic theists too.

Ew, the Attack! Attacl! song was terrible. Why do people call this metal? It's not even Hardcore, Mathcore, it's just shat. The screaming sounded like poo, the clean singing sounded like polished poo and the guitar work was mediocre. The best part was when I skipped from the Drop X chugging in the b...

Oddly, I like texting. It's faster, and less intrusive. In the time it takes to see who is calling answer and greet, I can read the entire message and choose to reply, ignore, or get back to later. 1. Hendrix was a piece. Mike McCready, imo , is the greatest guitar player ever. His style is amazing. Alive and Yellow Ledbetter are some of his greatest works for those who don't know him. 2. Nirvana is amazing. 3. Most "Nu-Metal" is over-rated. I'm not just saying that because I hate it...
